Before World War II Książ Castle was in possession of the Hochbergs regarded as one of the wealthiest and influential German aristocratic families. Underneath the castle there is a large system of tunnels hiding secrets of supposed Nazi treasures or intelligence files.
The Church of Peace in Świdnica is the largest timber framed religious building in Europe, were built in the former Silesia in the mid-17th century, amid the religious strife that followed the Peace of Westphalia, a unique spectacular wooden structure that bears testimony to the quest for religious freedom in Silesia.
Szczawno Zdroj is a historical spa resort. Here you have an opportunity to view the town’s picturesque old buildings (including the world’s first air-conditioned hotel) and spa facilities.
